All roads are paved until the final 1/10th of a mile, where a chip-sealed gravel path leads you gently to the summit. No 4WD needed spring through fall — any vehicle handles it fine. We do recommend 4WD in late winter when snow is possible at this elevation. The road is single-lane with pull-offs, and since only a few homes share it, traffic is rare. Despite the privacy, Asheville, Black Mountain, and Lake Lure are all just a short drive away. -Paved roads to final 1/10th mile; gentle gravel incline to summit -2WD accessible (spring, summer, fall); 4WD recommended in winter -25 min to Asheville · 20 min to Black Mountain · 35 min to Lake Lure 🧺 Laundry & Trash Guests staying 4+ nights have access to the washer and dryer in the garage via a keypad code sent before arrival. The owner keeps his basement office and garage locked. Guests will have access to be rest of the house and property. The owner never comes by when guests are there. If guests stay over four nights we will give you a garage door code to access the washer and dryer. Unfortunately we cannot provide washer and dryer access to anyone staying less than four night currently.
